in my eyes emmitt is the #4 running back ever. he stayed in way to long, he hasnt provided anything for his team in the last few seasons. like ive said before, if walter or barry would of run behind that line, they would of broke the record 5 yrs ago. here is the top 4 list of rbs
Barry Sanders Walter Payton Jim Brown Emmitt Smith
corey dillon is another great back that has no help, if he was on a good team his numbers would be twice as high, but since he plays for the bengals he gets to recognition. he's had 1000 yd seasons all but 1 time in his career if i remember correctly. Several 150+ and 200+ yd games. i wish barry would of got out of detroit, and i wish corey will get out of cincinnati, but i dont see that happening anytime soon.
As everyone knows, by no means does breaking this record make Emmit the best RB ever. We all know that's far from true.
Emmit could have helped Dallas more this year and last year by sitting on the bench. Allowing a younger, stronger, better back to run things for the Dallas running game. Now that he's broken the record I can't see any reason why his runs per game shouldn't drop significantly.
Looking for former University of Arizona NBA RC's in PSA or BGS 9's/GEM MINT grades. Die hard University of Arizona and Bay Area Sports fan.
You can say that so and so is a better running back but Emmitt has the record, give the man his due. It is very hard to stay healthy in the league to be able to come close to such an accomplishment, and Emmitt has proved his durability over the years. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy either. Congrats Emmitt!!!!!!
I still collect Tim Duncan! Love all high end auto's, and game used basketball of Tony Parker, and Ginobili too! This means more to me than any card...You can catch me on my site: Highlight Reel Trading
Way To Go EMMITT !!! even all the hatin goin on here in this post can't diminish what he's done. call it anyway you want but the bottom line is that EMMITT is the no.1 all-time rusher stinks the Boys lost though
barry was 1,500 yds short of the record and played 3 yrs less. If he stayed in he would of blow the record out!! He woulda been pretty damn close to 20,000!! Shows that some people(EMMITT) only want the records.
scroll down a bit at the website and it gives the stats.
i think barry is the best hands down. 1. Would of easily broke the record if he stayed in. it just shows its not all about $ and records 2. All around good back, caught well, and picked up the blocks all the time. 3. Got 90% of his yards by himself, no o-line, and little offensive help at all. 4. Always made something of nothing.
Just think for a moment, how many yards would barry or walter have behind the 90's cowboys line??
Another guy that should be recognized is corey dillon, like i said in the above post, he too is an all around back, and makes something from nothing, and has little help for his team. He still manages to fork out the great runs, games, seasons!!
actually man, totally forgot about it. ill send tomorrow, its been sitting in a package just never got around to sending it, sorry man. still cant figure out what i did with the first 1, could of swore i put it in with the other 150 brunells.
ya and it also might show that some people may not have loved the game as much as Emmitt.. and sorry to break it to you but barry was no where near the ALL-AROUND back that Emmitt was. sanders was not a great blocker or reciever . obviously Sanders was a great runner but to say if this and if that is just a waste of time
