    Don:

I use it all of the time. Have all of the coins on there and the prices that Heritage gives seem to be a good indicator of what you could expect to sell the coin for. Also use the prices for buying stuff. Neat little tool for collectors IMO.

I use it also. I will sometimes enter a coin just to see what price range they have on it.

    John:

Thats the neat little thing about it. Last week I could not find a reference price for a certain coin anywhere, so it got entered into my set and in a few seconds the price showed. Next step is convincing the seller that is close to the correct price. image

I use Heritage all the time. I particularly like the "My Heritage" feature. I also like their price guide. It reflects more closely what coins are bringing at auction, at least, what I've been seeing them sell for. I've also purchased from Heritage before, nice people to deal with.

    Cheers,

    Hi Don,
I've used the Heritage site for "My Collection" for well over a year. It is great to see the current values which I believe are closer to reality than CU or Numismedia. I just wish they would add back the post 1958 Lincoln prices, at least on the expensive coins. They had them on the site awhile back, but then dropped them. My 1972DD, 1990 no "S", 1995DD and 1992 DCAM in PR70 add up to a few bucks, but don't show up on their value list so it isn't accurate for me. Steve

I just discovered this feature a couple of weeks ago and like it very much. I have it noted in my collection files so that if something were to ever happen to me, my wife would have an idea as to their value.

I use it also and have used it for a long time. You have pops, relative demand, heritage index, and auction prices realized all on one line.

  • I too have been using the index which has been helpful, but some things you should know. When I went to sell some coins to Heritage some months back, they came back to me with an offer that was nowhere near the index prices that they publish. So while informative, and more realistic, they base their buy prices on the latest information they have from their auctions. Second, and somewhat dissapointing, they have very little information on Kennedy halves, as such, when I put in my registry set, which is about 60% complete, their page came back saying the set was worth $40-$60 - it might be, actually, but I would've thought that it'd be worth just a teensy bit more image

  • I just put a bunch of my coins in and the price range indicator said "ask" for most of them.
  • I had been aware of this feature but had not used it. Last night, while the wife was out playing BINGO, I started intering my collection...spent about three hours on it. I like the feature and will use it in the future. They do not place much value on moderns, do they.image

  • I have used "My Collection" for some time now. Up until the last couple of months their value range was really conservative and since their selling price as well was based on this you could pick up some fairly good deals. I am only addressing gold coins. However they recomputed their price range and the really good deals are a thing of the past. They are still considerably below 'Coin Trends" and usually PCGS. No real pattern for e-coin and numismedia comparisons but I suspect they are higher in general than Heritage.
As far as convincing a buyer/seller as to the value in "My Collection" simply have them refer to the 'price guide' as it has the same prices if you register.

And finally print out a copy of your collection after your major upgrades and keep a copy for spouse, your will, safe deposit and with the coin cache if you are a collector. This would no doubt be too cumbersome for the dealers and their turnover.
Hope some of this made sense.

I also use the "My Heritage" page and much the same way as everyone else has stated. It's great as a quick reference.

I have to agree with BSqr, that 1905 Barber is stunning OldCameo!

I've found that high end coins always have ask,as the value. It never did give me a value for the 1937 PR66 CAM Lincoln Proof. It is a good indicator though.U believe it is a valueable tool for collectors, especially new collectors.

Wish some of my coins fell in that category. When I look up values for mine it usually says, "don't waste my time"image

But seriously, that's a good indicator you have a hot or high-end coin.
