Is gu'ed getting crazy ??? Went to the shop today, here's what the owner showed me.......

He got some info on a product that Topps is gonna bring out.........
The set is 100 base cards and 27 rookies......but the thing is, EVERY base and rookie has a piece of jersey in it. only 2 cards per pack. About $20 per pack. They come out in Feb. 2003. But Jay williams, kobe, mj etc. are not in the set, do to them being with UD. But Duncan, Shaq, etc are. They have three parallals, copper /99, black /25, and LOGOMAN 1/1. Just wanted to know what you thought. The pic.'s looked pretty kewl.......the jerseys are cut into the shape of jerseys. Prices for boxes are about $150-$170 for 10 pack boxes.....

I think for the price of a pack, I would rather just wait to pick up the card I want off of
eBay then spend upto $20 for a pack of cards and probably get some player that I don't want.
Singles will be much, much cheaper then digging through packs. I personally don't think Topps is being smart with this set. The GU card is the last type of card companies can push. After the GU era dies then what??
This set will only hasten the decline of the GU commoditity.
