How can you tell if a coin is from a special mint set?
I am interested in info on all denominations.

The only real way is to take it from a sms holder that was just in a sealed box. I can tell with some accuracy, but even have seen the major services miss one every now and then. For the most part the sms have a sort of half way proof look to them, and are generally better struck all the way through. But if you have a very early die state circulation strike it can look like that as well.
