10 Day PCGS Modern Service?

I'm flabbergasted, received 10 days ago and grades posted! I forgot to mark the Sac as the quarterly freebie, however image oh well, just $10 extra. I guess they really don't give PR70's anymore though, the 92 Prestige set I sent was perfection itself.

Nice grades, if you put them up all the wall Lucy could fix her poni-tail in all those deep mirrors!

You are too right about PR70s. I submitted a $5 Robinson that was pristine. I examined it using 20x and couldn't find any flaws. Terrific strike, nice mirrors, no scratches, no hairlines, no nothing. Since one already existed I thought maybe, just maybe. But no dice. If PCGS ever eases up on their grading I'll resubmit that one for sure.

I recently sold a 1999 $10 proof gold eagle that was perfect under my 17x glass. Was one of my 4 freebies for gold club membership... and no proof gold eagles have ever been given that lofty grade, in any denom (MS70's do exist tho)... so wasn't quite sure. Probably could of gotten more money for it in an NGC PF70 slab, actually. Oh well, guess it's not isolated to any particular series, they just don't give 'em out no mo' image

yep, just looked at the pop report... and it must be very recent since there wasn't even a column for PR70 last time I checked that page image

With the 70 grade pretty much impossible these days, you had a GREAT submission!

ya, my first four freebies all came back 69.... and 15 out of 19 did on this submission too. Plus the fantastic turnaround times. I'll just think twice before sending PCGS any coin I truly believe to be a 70 in the future. If 69 is the best they'll give me, that's the best I should be sending them. Every time I sell an NGC 70 as a PCGS 69, it takes money out of my pocket.
