Do you like the looks of this 1858 half?
I have not sent it out for grading yet
I would also like some thoughts as to how it should grade.
It has good lustre. Does cartwheels like my ms morgans.

Must have been opened too many times before I could remove this one from the album.
Atleast The marks were barely noticable until I took the picture.
My digicam loves to make even the slightest detail come right out.
I still cant believe that this coin is so reflective that it made the background for the reverse appear to be very dark. It was a nice bright white piece of typing paper.
For some reason my coins dont like to tone except my modern proofs and my pennies
The proofs get hazy and develop spots the pennies turn brown.
The silver coins did get what appears to be a layer of dust on them after 5 years in storage.
Am I doing something wrong?
I have them all stored in pvc free plastic 2x2's
then in a binder page the type that has 4x5.
And finaly in a safe with a good suply of decisant.
Compare this reverse to yours.

Its in remarkable shape.
The eagles left wing(on the right) is well enough struck, but the left wing and adjacent letters ED ST,are weak.
Or its a weird wear pattern.
Looks to have AU details; design weakness appears to relate to strike - notice the central weakness and striations correspond to the high points.
Toning looks original, but, I don't know what to make of what looks like surface damage or pitting on right side of obverse.
I am not that familiar with these things yet.
Thanks
Mike
