Has this one been discussed yet?

For those of you who don't like paying for the plastic, personally I'll take mine with the plastic, it keeps the label and coin together so nicely...

I don't know why, but I believe this Seller.
His auction description, and the image of the coin, ring true.

  • It's quite plausible. My local dealer recently bought a Buffalo nickel collection. The collection was in a Dansco album, but all the key date coins had been certified, then cracked. The certification labels were pasted inside of the album for reference.

Although the picture isn't the greatest, the grade looks accurate and I don't really see anything that would cause the coin to be bagged. I believe the seller on this one.

i've bought from "howie's derelict" before, nothing to get excited about, believe me.

the story that the owner could have the label from the slab is highly plausible. i have a huge wooden box w/ every slab i've ever cracked out. tons of them. i'm waiting for spot on plastic to go up, when i'll sell em for 10% behind melt.

Buy the label not the coin image
  • mids1999,
Thank-You! (It was almost midnight when I was doing that, after being up since 6am)

  • If I have a Dansco album for a series I'm working on I will (and have) crack coins from all of the grading services. I keep the labels just to have them for future reference. There really isn't any value for the cracked coins label to anyone other than the original cracker.
