OK, so when I had all my slabs home last week end I was looking threw them and noticed a few things!

DAMN IT!!!!!!

They are turning UGLY! Can I say Ugly and Lincoln in the same sentence? I wanted to cry...

I found two hairs in two slabs, a finger print on one of them...

My 1943 and 1943-D....forget about them...I mine as well break out them and spend them!!! they were MS67's...now they look like ka-ka!

What can I do...besides break them all out and spend them!

We told you not to let you-know-who slab any more of your coins!!
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

Interesting, how long have you had them? I haven't seen that problem, and I've had some of mine for a while now.
    US Navy CWO3 retired. 12/81-09/04

    Looking for PCGS AU58 Washington's, 32-63.
  • Are they being stored in a humid lace or a place that is not particularly climate controlled?

Of course, that wouldn't explain hairs and fingerprints.
Time sure flies when you don't know what you are doing...

I've had them all within the past 2 years.

Thinking about trashing the whole set and starting over with something other than copper....I don't want to let go of my Lincolns!

(I'll never do it, just upset about the whole thing!)

Is there something I can do about the hairs and the finger print through PCGS?)

  • Can you explain what you mean? Are they changing colors or did your tastes change so that they no longer look as good as you thought they did? If they changed color, sounds like you got a hold of some altered surface coins which are reacting with whatever was used to "enhance" them.

    Is it cat hair? image
    Si vis pacem, para bellum

In God We Trust.... all others pay in Gold and Silver!
  • maybe it's Troll hair? and prints?

All ofmy slabs are sealed as far as I can tell anyway. I would suggest calling upPCGS and asking if there is the possiblility that foreign matter could have gotten into a slab just before it was sealed. Obviously, unless it (the actual "slabbing) is done in a "clean" environment - it would be possible.

Of course, with the slabs being 2 years old- I can only begin to hear all of the possible replies...

"spare change? Nahhhhh...never have any...sold it all on E-bay..."
see? My Auctions "Got any 1800's gold?"
