I do intend on having a '64 done. The '76 I have here was one that he already had done. In case you're wondering... he told me that proof coins don't come out too well. Probably because of the extra striking.
Every time I look at this thing I have to laugh out loud. It's just plain hilarious to hold this thing in your hand.

GaCoinNewbie - I remember reading in a thread earlier this year. Link Libertad has a link to a site that does this kind of thing. The site goes along with the Halloween season.
In addition to the proofs, silver clad doesn't work well either. He experimented on some of both with coins I sent him .
It's strange that the clad proofs don't work well, because they're the same composition as the circulation strikes. Either something in the way the planchets are prepared, or perhaps higher striking pressure causes the metal to react differently... they implode more violently, even when he cranked down the power.
Also the mirrored fields are no longer after being shrunk.
I have a Half and a State quarter. I'd be interested in seeing a dime. The half shrinks to the size of a quarter and the quarter the size of a dime so a dime would be really small.

I agree with your assessment of Bert. I had an email conversation with him recently, and he's very willing to discuss what he does.

Wow, a four+ year thread reanimated. How did you even find it? I'm genuinely curious as to how these things come back.

Just stumbled upon it in a random forum search. Honestly wasn't even looking.
