choice2004455 are you for real?

Yahoo has a seller I'm not sure about - the same? that got kicked off of ebay because of his 1858 PR65 CAMEO dime. How does someone go from selling $10-$30 coins to $10,000-$30,000 in a couple weeks?

If you feel as I do and participate in YAHOO auctions could you go to his EXTREMELY RARE 1895-S MORGAN SILVER DOLLAR MS65PL auction closing in a couple days -> then click Neighborhood watch -> possible terms of service violation. Mention possibility of stolen images or something. As far as I can tell Yahoo needs 3 complaints before they get curious and do anything.

If this guy is for real, they have some real fine coins - if not someone is going to get scammed (already sold a $1600 and $3000 in last week).

    sinin1,
Please see the "Threatening emails from ebay scam artist" thread. I believe this might be the same guy from Ebay (or, if not, another scammer). He is offering the SAME 1858 dime that was in the bogus Ebay sale and, as I have mentioned, the Yahoo seller is NOT the guy who owns the coin. I have written Yahoo and posted a question/comment under the seller's listing of the 1858 dime but I have no history on Yahoo. Whatever you or others can do to check this out would be great.

Does anyone know how to contact bidders on Yahoo like you can do on Ebay? I didn't see a way to do it. Even if you can't do that, you, as a registered Yahoo user, are free to post questions under the seller's listings, hint, hint. image

Yahoo is trickier than ebay - you can't find what someone is bidding on or have bought nearly as easy as ebay. To get bidders email - the only way I know - is to check the bidders feedback - see if they have any current auctions (most don't) -> if they do go to any of their items and ask them a question -> yahoo forwards question to them.

If they aren't selling - go to last feedback - ask that seller on that item if they still have records of so-and-so who won such and such on certain date -> explain to them that buyer may be getting scammed on a current auction and could they please email you their email address or forward your message to them.

choice2004455 still has nice coins for sale on yahoo -> does R&I have in their possesion that 1858 Cameo Proof dime?

    sinin1,

I was told by a board member that R&I has their coin (1858 Dime) in a current Coin World ad. And, my PCGS pop report shows only 1 PR65 Cameo for that date.

Clearly the 1858 dime imaged on Yahoo is the same one that was in the Ebay sale that was pulled and the Yahoo seller has not replied to the questions/coments I have noted in the "Question and Answer" section of his sale. Additionally, the Yahoo seller also lists an 1895-S Dollar as PCGS MS65PL, but the label imaged under the coin says PR65!

I am as certain as I can be that the Yahoo guy is another scammer, if not the same guy who was on Ebay.

The same guy has a 93S Morgan listed at $2000.00 which would probably be worth more if real.

Good news kinda - the 1858 Seated Dime PCGS PR65 CAMEO auction (69980641) has been closed down - it was the same photo that is on R & I Coins website - www.ricoins.com

But Yahoo closed this one auction and let lots more continue - whats up with that? This person still has a couple hundred thousand dollars worth of very nice coins listed - I'm happy for them if they have them - image

    I'm afraid they don'timage

sinin1 - I provided Yahoo with fairly definitive information about the 1858 dime. I guess they listened! Unfortunately, I don't KNOW about the other coins to be able to do anything about them.

I filed a "Neigherhood Watch" complaint against the seller 2 days ago. I received an email back from Yahoo! stating they needed some more info regarding this matter. One item they asked for was the eBay auction ID number of the questionable seller, which I supplied off of this forum. They also wanted to know where the original photos were taken (ie: which company), so I gave them that info. That was yesterday. And auction is still up. So how knows...............
