Opinions on this toned Morgan please

I just got several Toned Morgans back from PCGS and would like to hear your thoughts on this coin. The picture is from my scanner and is close to what the coin looks like, although it is alot less "mottled" in person than the scan indicates. I need to get a good camera so I can really get the true look of these types of coins. All of the yellows and greens don't seem to scan well. Thanks for looking image

Interesting pattern of color. How lustrous is it in person?

  • NWCS, It has nice cartwheel luster that enhances the toning,,or vis versa image

JMWarren, I know your feelings about toning image I always liked white coins, still do, until I startrd buying some old time collections and started to come across coins like this one. They are special.

  • Hi Greg, thanks for not taking my posting too seriously. It was meant as a joke (between you and me, there are some real anal retentive people around here <BLADE&gtimage. Real pretty coin though.

You can have all your purple & green monsters because that is my kind of toning. I know it's not beautiful or anything but it's neat & original and I think that makes it kinda pretty. If the obv matched the rev it would be great. So let me grade it-couple of ticks & flat strike MS 62/63?
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

    Greg,
That is one mighty fine looking coin, and original, I might add.

JM - Thanks for the poke. As it turns out, I don't have a single toned coin in my collection. But I appreciate the beauty. I have no problem with your POV on toning. It's your attitude last night that gave me pause. Parhaps a good night's sleep did you some good.
