New coin displays

I was trying to think of something different to get with some gift money I had. I stumbled upon this web site. (www.airttiteholders.com). I purchased a couple of the cherry boxes that hold slabs. They make them for all kinds. Each box will only hold the same type slab. I ordered one each of PCGS,NGC, and ICG on 10/21/02 @ 9:45 am. When I got home from work today there was a box at my front door. Delivery from Airtite holders. Now thats impressive, but not as impressive as these boxes are. I loaded my best toned dollars into the display boxes and fell completely in love all over again with my collection. not that I had ever fallen out of love but it was a rekindling of the flame so to speak.

I would highly recomend this product to show off your collection. Even if you are the only one looking at and enjoying it. Thats kind of how it is at my house. They are just tarnished dollars to every one else here.

Just thought I would share this with all. does anyone else use there products? jack

I use their cherry wood cases and velvet steel cases, but not with slabs. I use the Air Tite holders and use the wood cases to show off my better type sets and collections.

    TD,

I've got several different kinds of presentation boxes that I've picked up through the years but my favorite is definitely one made of cherry wood. I'm not sure who's product it is, but it's definitely well made. I've got one of my rainbow toned PCGS dollars in it and it looks great.

P.S. Have you seen anything on the market for the PCGS Regency holders?imageimage

Just a little green draw string bag. Very few of those around though. image

I love these boxes and will use them with my newly formed toned Peace dollar set. Though I was worried about using them with my blast white proofs. I just didn't know whether the wood and velvet could have a toning effect thru the slab after longterm use.

Anyone have any long term experience with these holders? Any (-) effects?

    Thanks
    Michael

I was able to pick up a nice black walnut, multi drawered display case (all drawers felt lined) and an oak multi drawerd display case (lined) on eBay a year or so ago. Incredibly well made and really shows off gold and silver coins very well... Cheers, RickO

I'd love to find one of those 19th century coin cabinets Bowers writes about in some of his books.
