looking for "Carson-heads"

Hi y'all,

Well, I've finally found a direction to go with my coin collecting, and it'll keep me occupied until I enter the big branch mint in the sky-
or wherever I end up. Morgan cc's from every year and a type set with some choice "CC's" thrown into the mix. I've contacted GSAGUY
with my aspirations and am talking to a cc-gold specialist (Doug Winter) in Texas. Gonna take it slow and easy. The gold will primarily
be in PCGS 58 across the board-oh, maybe someday I might get a hi-relief Saint, but they're common and overpriced. I like my funky NGC 62
Rosy Saint-though it hasn't come yet!

I'd like to talk to other CC collectors out there. I'm only interested in gold and morgans-no other denominations. And 58 is the grade for the
scarcer stuff, 63+ for the more common types (like Indian heads). I will obtain the best Morgans I can find within my budget.

And of course, the ol' '86 Medusa will head the Barney collection-hmm, maybe I should start a registry set? www.barneycoin.com (ha).
Egad, am I growing an ego here? Ugh.

Take care and thanks for reading another one of my posts,
Barn

  • I'll be interested in seeing some of the CC Morgans you buy if you decide to post them. I'm collecting an entire date/mintmark Morgan series, including the CC's (I have a long way to go yet), and it will take a long time to complete, as I buy them as my budget allows. I'm not in any hurry though image Good luck with your cc's!

  • Hi.

Yes, I will send you scans as soon as I start buying them. I hope to hear from GSAGUY soon. Best wishes in Virginia (hope they find that scoundrel soon!).

    Peace,

  • Barney, saw lots of CC Morgans at Buena Park this last weekend in their original GSA goverment boxes AND a few were nice rainbows. If you can go to the next Anaheim coin show Nov. 17 i'm sure they'll be some there.
Friends are Gods way of apologizing for your relatives.

    Hey Barn
I like Morgans. Especially CCs. Especially DMPL. Especially DMPL CC Morgans.
I got a junky 79CC that I listed on eBay a lot of times but can't sell it because it's overpriced. It's not DMPL though it's AU.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
  • Hey Dog,

Yeah, I'm hoping to grab a couple from GSAGUY-and if they have a little color, that's a plus, too!

Yea, I'm a cc morgan person also. Been into barbers but always go back to morgans and for sure cc morgans. I looked at a couple cc morgan pl's today but the guy wanted too much for what they were.
