Can you cross at a designation?

I already asked about crossing at a certain grade... but...

Say all you want is the designation- maybe the coin is extra valuable in DCAM, FH, FBL, RD, etc... if the grade slips even three points, that will be OK, but if the designation is dropped, then you are out of luck...

Can you tell a service to cross only at a designation?

    I believe you can Jeremy - it seems to me that I've heard of people trying to cross Franklins but only if they did so at FBL.
