Need some help with this Kennedy

I was at a local coin shop looking for high grade Washington clads searching mint sets, about 300 sets and didn't find a single coin to purchase. I was looking through these 1965 SMS unopened sets about 6 in all when I pulled out this beauty, I'm not to up on Kennedy's since I mainly collect Washington quarters so I need some opinions. Is this coin worth submitting to pcgs, It looks even better than these pictures indicate, as I have not prefected taking pictures of coins yet.

1965 SMS
65 REV

This coin is black and white and I didn't know that SMS coins came with this kind of contrast. Any comments would be appreciated.

The 1965 is by far the rarest of the three SMS's (with the 1967 being somewhat common) with any kind of contrast.
I'd submit! Looks like a winner to me.

If your scans are close to accurate, yes submit it. It is an excellent example for that year and looks to be MS67. I don't know if it'll make CAM as PCGS is requiring a first born child with each CAM designation on these, but even without the designation on the holder, that is a very nice coin and would return more than the cost of submission.

Nice looking half. It can't hurt the coin to surround it in plastic. It might cam. image

Hi Buc long time no speak.
It looks like a good one. I think it has a good shot @ Cam.
Good find. I think you better check the rest of that dealer's stuff.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

One additional note. If it did go 67 and got the CAM designation, it's a $450+ coin.

It's hard to tell from a scan, but the reverse might stop it from going cameo. It is nice.
You must have a pretty nice clad quarter collection if you can't find an upgrade in 300
    mint sets!

  • Hey buc, looks like a very nice MS66 to me going by the scans. Might be worth submitting, but I don't think it will go CAM, still a very nice pull there.

And I can attest for buc's washington quarter collection, it is a remarkable set of white Washingtons, he had me dying to buy the 32-S that our local dealer got for him.

  • Big E, He had no problems with me looking, He is mainly into currency and he also sets up at a local flea market on the weekends.
If anyone has ever looked at the quality of coins in most mint sets they know what I'm talking about. It's hard to find clean high end clads. I mainly fill all my needs with raw coins, I enjoy searching, it's why I collect coins.
