You can do a web search on airtite coin holders.
I want to buy 250 of the nickel size but wished they were the direct fit size as I have not been able to find some research or info on whether or not the white or black ring that's included in the airtite will cause the coins to tone. I have received coins in airtites and they were already toned but beautifully toned. But I'm not sure if the airtite rings caused the toning. I have a dozen coins in airtites now as I'm experimenting with them. I question the rings as sometimes I find them to feel somewhat sticky and they will stick to one side of the airtite after I remove the coin.
My original plan was to use the kointains for my coins but have been unsuccessful in putting the two little dinky round sides together let alone with a coin. My hopes were to place my raw FS Jeffersons in a Washington intercept shield album which has 188 openings for coins but first place them in some kind of small round coin holder like an airtite or kointain that would fit into the quarter size openings.
I'm tired of the flips and all the 2x2 boxes, keeping them organized. I want to be able to get the album out and if I wanted to have a closer look at a certain coin then all I would need to do is slid out the plastic window of the album page and easily take out the coin that is protected in a little small round coin capsule.
I think I could get eliminate 3-4 2x2 boxes of flips with coins and fit them all into one album. So the other thing to think about is what to do with the airtite holders after the coins are in them. They don't seem to have a box for quanity storage. The album that is offered holds only 36 airtites. They do suggest putting the airtites in a flip or a frame type 2x2 which is additional cost but then I might as well go with intercepts 2x2 box and holders but then I'll end up with more boxes then if I had just left them in the flips.
They offer an airtite holder coin chest which in my opinion is impractical. Takes up too much space up to hold so very few coins.
My other option is to create my own 3 ring album with the plastic pages but I'm leary about the material used in those coin pages and if I can get them where the openings will be big enough to house an airtite.
Why am I writing all this crap? I've had these ideas running around in my had for the last 6 months or so and I have yet to come up with a safe storage solution and I do want to include some of intercepts shields technology as my coins have shown some toning residing in those 2x2 boxes over the years.
My only option remains, having a custom fit holder made by the company who make the airtites.
Or any plastic company who can make me a holder simular to the airtite but without the questionable ring.
Recently, I've noticed that Silvertowne offers a triple row box where each row is 1 and a half inches wide (same size as the diameter of the nickel airtite but then I'm back to the cardboard box again.
A friend and veteran FS Jefferson collector has some 700 nickels in a couple 3 ring type binders, but each coin is in a stapled 2x2 and the coin pages contain PVC. But he claims that the mylar
plastic films in the 2x2's protect the coins, in the 18 years of collecting. I don't want to go that route as I don't like staples or PVC.
Well, I hope I have been helpful and not so confusing and maybe someone has a better idea.
