Very new to this!!! Just have a few questions

I know practically nothing about collecting coins but is interested in learning. I was going through my dads stuff and came across a few things.
I dont know if these two coins i have here are replicas or are just really large. I have a 1877 buffalo cent. and a 1913 nickel. Both Large coins. Will someone just comment on this. I do not know anything about coins. thank you so much. They are not the small ones, but very large coins. I would put pics up, but they exceed the maximum size.

Hi Mark, I believe I have some of those too. Look on the back, it will probably say COPY there somewhere, they are reproductions and are used as coasters----------BigE

They sound like "repli-coins", not manufactured by the US mint. Just a guess.

Depending on the size they may or may not have COPY on them.
The super big ones don't- I guess even the Government figures no bonehead would think they're real. . .

No, they don't have to have COPY unless it is an exact copy. Those CC morgan replicas and the 1933 saint replicas do not copy the design fully. They move around some elements to keep it from looking like the original.
