Is ANACS usually slower than PCGS?

I submitted to both at Long Beach using economy services. I received my PCGS coins 3 days ago, when will I get my ANACS coins? I call them and all they say is, "Their here"!

ANACS is usually a few more weeks slower than the others.
    That has been my experience.

Anacs economy translates into forever. I think a lot of submitters know this, so they opt for the 5 day service. The economy stuff keeps getting pushed off. Anacs was at the St. Louis show, so expect another delay with all the material coming from there too. I sent off a submission to them last week (5 day service), and don't expect to get my coins back until next week.

ANACS irritated me several years ago when the state quarter program came out and they were giving the quarters preferrential treatment. I sent in 10 type coins and a friend of mine sent in some state quarters at the same time. He received his back in no time and after 45 days, I called and told them just send my coins back since they hadn't started the grading. I've not dealt with them since.

  • ANACS is slower than PCGS. I sent submissions to both companies on the same day. Delivery receipt showed they were received on the same day. I did not get my coins back from ANACS for about 2 weeks after I got my PCGS coins back. But I did get them back and they were graded fairly. So I will be sending to them again real soon.

the nice thing is they take so long you can forget you even own the coins and when the do finally get back it's like a little gift.

I have to concur. I sent 2 submissions, economy and a special 9 day deal. The nine day deal was fine, the economy was over 30 days. If you go with ANACS go with a faster turn around and you'll be pleased.

  • I have never used their economy service. The 5 day service is the way to go, and is also very reasonably priced. Just a note, I don't think its just ANACS, PCGS economy service also takes forever. I had a Silver Eagle sit there for an eternity this summer. I have never tried submitting coins myself to NGC.
