Well, what do you guys think. Is this "typo" an accident?

I'm surprised it's not a DCAM considering the PCG holderimage
  • I was about to make a lame joke about how often you see a PCGS coin listed as ACGS... then on a whim I checked for ACGS on eBay, and well lookey there.

Why in the world if you were creating another hokey slab would you put ACG in the name?
  • that's crap

What's even more weird is that the seller revised the auction title about a half-hour after posting the auction. That would rule out "typo" in my book. Or maybe he changed the title to match the auction description that said "PCG".

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

It's in both the title and description, and even if one was a copy/paste of the other, it still looks intentional to me.

  • Well he has now corrected theauction both in the title and in the body of the auction.

I have previously discussed both ACGS certification companies on the forum here. Yes there are TWO different companies that use the intitials ACGS. American Coin Grading Service and Australian Coin Grading Service.

And MrLee, ALL of the grading services , even PCGS and NGC started as do-it-yourself grading services. Some just had better or more well known people on staff than others did. Don't knock "do-it-yourselfers", that's how Apple and Microsoft got started.
