Dime 1879 Proof J-1588 NGC 69 Pattern
Irridescent blue and golden orange, well struck, deep mirrors, portrait has nice contrast, gorgeous specimen.

Frank, there were aluminum patterns struck in that very same year, but not for that particular design/denomination.

That coin was lot 1111 from the Harry Bass collection and sold for $24150 in a PCGS 68 holder. Its pretty but very darkly toned.
