When it comes time to sell.

How do you go about it?
Would one be better off if they sold the set as a whole ,or sell off coins 1 by 1?
Any thoughts?

One by one. Send all the $500 plus coins to a big auction at runs with a major show (Fun, Long Beach). All coins under $500 E-bay them.

Sell? There is no selling in coin collecting!!!! image

FYI, I had a discussion not long ago with a forum member about selling via auction. The upside is it attracts lots of buyers (at the big ones), the downside is it can tie up your coins and money for 2-3 months.

As for me, I plan on taking my coins with me. image I've got a special trunk marked NEXT LIFE for coins and other items I may need. imageimageimage.

It's harder to let them go if you sell them one at a time. If you slap a price on the whole thing, at least if it goes, you'll have some money to aliviate the pain. Of coarse... you're seriously limiting your market. If you're seriously interested in selling... listen to spooly...
