Thanksgiving??? I was in an Ohio K-mart last week, and they had just replaced the fall planting bulbs' display with flashing xmas trees accompanied by the appropriate music. It was quite a shock. What happened to Halloween? Miniature Turkey-shaped/scented Jack-o-Lantern Christmas tree ornaments, on sale now!
I saw my first late night Christmas music CD offering this year the day after labor day. That's wrong.
We are finite beings, limited in all our powers, and, hence, our conclusions are not only relative, but they should ever be held subject to correction. Positive assurance is unattainable. The dogmatist is the only one who claims to possess absolute certainty.
<< <i>Bah Humbug-Christmas music already and it's not even Thanksgiving yet. >>
Fortunately, I don't have speakers here at work.
I'm glad I'm not alone in being a Humbug- any Christmas hype, decorations, or music before Thanksgiving (let alone before Halloween!) should be punishable by a $500 fine, or imprisonment until Christmas Eve.
I visited the Biltmore House on November 1st two years ago, and found scaffolding and boxes everywhere on the ground floor as they began decking the halls for Christmas. When I grumbled about this, though, a nearby tour guide said they started so early because it actually takes that long to put everything up in the Biltmore House, which has something like four acres of floor space!
So I made an exception in their case. They are excused. Everyone else take note, however: LordM is a real Grinch when he hears Jingle Bells or Rudolph the Red-Assed Reindeer before December 1st, and is prone to irrational behavior when that happens.
(Next thing you know, we'll be seeing reindeer and candy canes everywhere before the smoke has even cleared from the Fourth of July fireworks...)
yea, I know. I heard my first ad for Christmas music a couple of day's ago. I also asked my wife what day she wanted to take off to do our Christmas shopping.
Some stores in my area have had Christmas decorations up for at least two weeks already! I agree.. no Christmas stuff until Thanksgiving is over. I remember as a kid the big exciting thing to do was to go shopping the day after Thanksgiving. We got to see all the Christmas decorations up for the first time, and it was exciting. That really started the Christmas season off right. Nowadays I'm sick and tired of Christmas long before December 25th rolls around.
Many stores in my area are already selling Christmas items. I think they should move it to the summer since astronomers and historians think that is a more accurate date for the holiday. There was even a book out from someone who said that the Nativity occurred on September 11.

What would your slabbed coins be worth if the grading services went out of business? What would your coins be worth if the Internet was taken offline for good?
Just the other day I was pointing out to the wife as we were driving home one evening, while pointing to a particular house I said, "would you look at that...that guy already has his christmas lights on......I wonder wait he's thinking? Then a couple of blocks further we saw another house, can't agree more, it's too early for that BS.

The more qualities observed in a coin, the more desirable that coin becomes!
The Rite Aid (formally Thriftys) near me has had their Christma$ stuff up for at least 6 weeks. All went up right after all the summer items were taken off the shelves and put right next to the halloween junk..
Friends are Gods way of apologizing for your relatives.
We have a house in the neighborhood that the neighbors call "The Enchanted Cottage". Covered with a zillion lites, plastic Santas. reindeer, elves, animals and anything else they find in the basement. The jerk is out there right now dressing the place for Christmas. Merry Christmas!!!! Twowood
