    Rick,

Am I missing something? It looks to me like you typed the same thing twice. Did you mean UCAM or something?

Should be the same thing and count the same in the Registry. Perhaps PCGS changed the way they designate Lincolns somewhere along the line. I never heard of anything but a red Lincoln proof getting a cameo or a Dcam designation. mdwoods

I actually asked Rick Montgomery this question a few months ago. He said that only RD cents would get the CAM or DCAM designation. Perhaps they are now explicitly including the RD on the holder.

I don't know why a BR couldn't be DCAM. Cameo is one trait, color is another. Maybe a brown should not make 69 (or will I get told grade is one trait/color is another).

  • Rick:

Go to the PCGS certification verification page (link below) and see what happens when you enter the numbers on the slab. I think both would come back with the same designation meaning that they are, as others have said, they are the same grade and would count the same in any registry set.

When you ask for certification verification on 30020068 their system simply reports it as a PR69 DCAM without the RD designation which shows it is just a redundancy on the label. Someone at PCGS just got carried away in typing up the label. If it bothers you, I'm sure that PCGS would reholder it for you without the RD - they might even waive the $10 reholdering fee!!!!! image

Good luck with Lincoln proofs. They are usually very nice coins. image
