Have you noticed how R&I's coins seemlingly are all Near DCAM or DCAM+ obv.? Seems if they can't get PCGS to give them the grade they expect, then they will just describe them that way anyway.
Near DCAM!!!
I recently bought one of their DCAM+ obv coins and had to return it for a very fast, courteous refund. The obverse was indeed very strong with cake white, heavy frost. However, there were numerous frost breaks on the reverse and frankly the coin was grossly overgraded. I'm afraid some of their junior salespeople are embelishing just a bit......OK, quite a bit!

I dislike when a seller thinks all of his stuff is PQ PQ PQ PQ++++ PQ+++
I went to a tiny little show. Some little pushy guy had a table. EVERY coin he had was marked PQ!!!! I watched him a bit. His being obnoxious personality kept people far away.
Maybe you should review the part about the coin I had to return. That very difficult date coin didn't even come close. I'm not even sure RT is even seeing all the coins that are going to Ebay, unless he has it on the website and newsletter as well. I think these coins are being brought in by the juniors and hyped on Ebay by the same. A year ago, they weren't overhyping the coins like they are now.
That coin is priced at FULL retail, plus a commission for the salesperson, plus enough to cover the Ebay fees! I think you can find one with a nicer obverse and a much better price. The reverse looks awesome, however, you always have to keep in mind that the reverse is always a lot easier to scan for contrast than is the obverse.
My peeve with RICoins is with all the hoopla about being the best in the business (paraphrased of course) they SEEM to submit just missed PCGS DCAMs to NGC for a UCAM. I mean they do boast that they were instrumental in developing the PCGS reference set for the CAM/DCAM designations, so why not stand behind it?
R&I Coins sells under 3 different Ebay ID's. I don't believe RT has any idea how items are described or what auction title is used. I get the feel some of his juniors are handling all of the Ebay sales now. I think a good deal of the coins are coins they acquire themselves.
