Extended thread - Errors in circulation?

Since the other thread tee'd up proofs in circulation, have you ever found nice errors in circulation?

I have only found a couple Lincoln cent errors. A 1982 major die break that shows a large cud over "TRU" in TRUST. Also found a 1991 cent struck through grease or something. The reverse has very washed out details. I'm still waiting to find something dramatic.

I've gotten blank-planchet cents, slight off-center coins (no more than about 5% O/C out of circulation, though), and quite a few clipped planchets. I came across a new roll of Jefferson nickels in about 1992, which had 3 or 4 clipped coins in the roll, and one coin with triple clips on it! The blank-planchet cents also came from a new roll of coins.

I got a late state 1969-D? dime struck by a capped die, a couple broadstrike
coins, a 1977 quarter struck on a nickel planchet, a 1983-P quarter with two
major cuds, a couple clads missing a layer, a struck outer layer missing the
rest of the coin (41st "coin" in a BU roll), 10% off center 1984-D quarter, many
minor errors and maybe some major ones that haven't come to mind.

I do much better with varieties since people aren't looking for them.

I've gotten a couple of blank cents but have never found any of the lincoln doubled dies and I've been watching for them since '84!
  • So far I've found: a 1937 cent with clipped planchet, several type 1 and type 2 cent blank planchets, an off center dime and an off center cent and one SBA missing the reverse clad layer. image
