KINGCOIN, CAN I GET $100,000 FOR THIS?

Seriously, though, has anyone seen another 1983-D with this die gouge? It runs almost from Liberty to Lincoln's ear. I'm sure Kingcoin would say that it's the assassination bullet. Is it common?

    It's worth 2 cents in MS-66 and $50,000 in MS-67. image

I better send it to ACG, then.

  • I would have given you 100k for it in a heartbeat but unfortunately I don't buy coins with carbon spots so I am going to have to pass on it.

I just realized we haven't heard from the whackjob in a while. Did he move on?

I hope not. At least until I get his valued, professional opinion on this coin.

My guess is that he has been banned, based on some past threads where things truly spun out of control. (Unlike the other ones, right?) image

I think bad language got kincoin banned for life.

TD. Cool lincoln, but you gotta come up with a cool name for it to sell it for 100k. Something like the q-tip lincoln.
  • I heard that Carol probably gave him the axe. I missed the thread that precipitated his demise. Wish I could have seen it!

I have actually seen one of these. It went back in the pile for the bank, but yes...I have seen one. I would imagine it might bring a couple of dollars to an interested collector, and they do exist. Give it a whirl on eBay with some interesting name and I bet it sells.

Now this is a die crack!!!

It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • Haven't come across a penny like that

I'm sure Kingcoin would say that it's the assassination bullet BWWHHHHAAAAA!! Not sure to ttake that as a humorous remark or not, but interesting observation. I can't find the special minuteman quarter on ebay. Maybe you should try the same tactic of listing like those items? image

This is the ultra-rare Booth/Lincoln penny. That is not a carbon spot on the coin, but rather gunpowder residue. If Koo-koo had it, it would be on Ebay for $275k with the reference: "How do errors such as this get out of the mint when they have such tough quality control?"

Mr.Lee that is the second listing! The first one at that price had NO takers! If it was in a PCGS or NGC slab it might sell at that price.

just for curiosity sake i tried to send KINCOIN a PM and he's listed as either not a member or not receiving PM's. it's about time if it's the former. though some were against removing/censoring him or anyone, i doubt many would defend that action (thank you, carol) if it has indeed been taken. as i've said before, rules are good and neccesary in an ordered society.

  • I'll bid for this item, but the price has be where the decimal point is moved three positions to the left. image

I copied parts of the "Pissing MinuteMan" Auction that are my favorite parts:

The coin world knows this is a real coin now.

    huh?

Now the odds of faking seven other coins exactly alike are about TEN BILLION to one.

    got any fake dies anyone?

This coin is a true gem that may grade very high. This will prove the coin is not a fake once and for all as some have suggested as you can see one of them is slabbed.

high grade = not fake -- what???

The crack begins from the minute mans ????

    his what???

This is one rude Minute Man. This Minute Man had the piss scared right out of him when Paul Revere was yelling "The British Are Coming, The British Are Coming".The silver stream is frozen in time and will be depicted on this coin forever.

    come again?

he could have also been a drunkard of this era and did not know where the outhouse was. Hey the OUTHOUSE is in the backyard fella.

    where????

The scan does not show the full length of this crack but it is long for a proof die crack.

the length of his crack -- huh???

    Doug
