Do you avoid transactions with friends...

...as a rule? There are so many potential disappointments on both ends when buying or selling cions. Do you think that it’s best to conduct business only with someone that you don’t know (i.e., over the internet) or with someone who views you as just another costumer, and not as a personal friend? Even if it was understood up front that there was a return period, I’d feel uncomfortable returning a coin - like I was offending the person - even if this were not the case.

What’s your experience?

Dan

I have bought a few coins from board members, at below-market prices, and all parties have been pleased ... They even shipped the coins before my checks had cleared -- and they did. image Trustworthy people aboard these boards.
  • The transactions I have done with board member has gone really well.

Now family is a different matter, I would never make any type of transaction with family members, except for Mother, Sisters, father

I've delt a lot with friends. The great thing about friends, is you can trust them. I generally tell them beforehand if I think they'll like the coin or not. If I tell them they'll like it for the price, they generally buy it. If I tell them to keep looking, they do. I've also sent coins before payment with really good friends. If they like them, they send payment, if they dont, they send what they dont want back.

Friends are easy to work with.

  • I dealt with a few board members, some that I would consider friends and the transactions were smoother than any other venue!

  • I have to deal with my friends. My enemies deal with my competitors.

I have done a few small deals with a couple of board members. All have been very satisfactory. I have done a few with family members, but we're all trustworthy. But after that, I would be leery of transactions with friends or others.
