Modern Commemorative MS Silver Dollar Grading Question

moosesrmoosesr Posts: 1,966 ✭✭✭
Will PCGS grade a modern silver commemorative dollar MS69 if there is any shiny spot or spots in the matt like finish? I have a several modern commemorative BU dollars, including a WheelChair dollar that has two tiny bright spots, one on the nose and one on the body. The spots are are not noticeable without maginification. I would like to have these coins slabbed because I don't have the original mint paperwork and packaging. I wouldn't like to get them back from PCGS as MS67 or MS68.

Thanks,Charlie

It all depends on the size and placement of the spots. You would have a better chance at an ms69 grade if the spots are located in a busy area of the devices. make sure they can't been seen with the naked eye while turning the coin in the light. The wheelchair coin is still a winner in pcgs ms68. Paul
  • two spots?... would probably grade at 69 and certainly not less than 68

any interest in selling the wheelchair?

I'll probably sell some of these coins after the first of the year.
