The first one looks to be an 1832 as the headline states. The description says 1831 though. The pic is too poor to judge this coin. The 1834 may well be the rarest variety for that year, but its still only somewhat scarce as a variety. None of the 1834's are hard to find.
Thanks Braddick, that is what is wrong with #2... it just didn't look right to me and I couldn't figure it out and I think you are correct, it does appear to be slightly corroded.
Even though the image is dark, #1 appears to be the better of the two.
