1970 Kellogg's Submission Results

Now before Big Kid hits me in the head with the SPAM football, I do realize that this may be more appropriate over on the Vintage (?) Sportscards Trading Board. However, this seems to be the klubhouse of the '70 Kellogg's kult and probably has the most folks that would be interested in my submission results. About 2 weeks ago I rounded up 78 high-grade '70 Kelloggs that were unappreciated in my collection and sent them off to NewPort Beach. The results posted today and included 39 PSA 9s and one PSA 10 -- almost all the rest were 8s (must have missed a scratch or something on the Gary Nolan 5 though). The 9s were 17 different cards, including 6 of the top 10 lowest pop 9s and the 10 was the first 10 of Brooks Robinson. Here's the list:
PSA 9:
#16 Carlos May (#1 low pop)
#17 Bill Singer (#8 low pop)
#18 Rick Reichardt (#3 low pop)
#21 Brooks Robinson
#22 Luis Aparicio
#23 Joel Horlen (#4 low pop)
#24 Michael Epstein (tied for #4 low pop)
#26 Willie Crawford (#9 low pop)
#27 Roberto Clemente
#46 Reggie Smith
#48 Curt Flood
#52 Al Kaline
#53 Gary Nolan
#55 Ollie Brown
#56 Luis Tiant
#57 Bill Freehan
#58 Johnny Bench
PSA 10: #21 Brooks Robinson
All of these cards are available, and I'd rather trade than sell. I'll leave the question of whether or not 1970 Kellogg's is a Vintage Set up to wiser collectors than me, but I'd like to turn mine into vintage cards in the following sets that I need help on -- all are on the Registry and viewable as Stonegate:
1954 Red Heart -- PSA 9s needed
1963 Fleer Baseball -- PSA 9s needed
1954 Bowman Football -- PSA 8s and 9s needed
1955 Bowman Football -- PSA 9s needed
1960 Topps Football -- PSA 8s and 9s needed
If you don't have any of these, perhaps some creative 3 or 4-way deals would work!
Cheers,
Kevin

I got way better stuff to trade then these Girl Scouts.
Just kidding. why not e-mail Kurtz Kards.
He actually is a big time Brooks collector and is already into the K thang.
remember.......You can't spell cheese with a K.
As in the other recent auctions of psa 10 Kelloggs, of course I will pay more than the gemmintman.
Also, how about the last trade we were discussing. I thought the ball was in your court.

54 Red Hearts
and now 64 Stand ups
To find your answer, do a search on this board for "Horlen". There are a few posts. From what little I know about this set (just got interested a few weeks ago and can not resist the 3-D) the Horlen card is typically plagued with a horrible little u-shaped scratch across his face. Something attributed to the production process I guess. Therefore, finding one without this scratch, and in 9-10 quality, is something of a rarity.
Now If Zardoz would only answer the question as to why the May card is also so difficult, my day would be complete and it's only 8:30 am here.
I could give to a long winded explanation as to how, during the process of applying the plastic to the photo sheet, the day the Carlos Mays were printed, the humidity was high thus causing irregularities in the card............... I could, but I won't.
The truth is that I have no friggin' idea! Every set and bulk lot that I have come across, May is always a dog.
Sorry!
