I still can't seem to capture the brillance, but here it is. In person it is blast white.

  • Jon,

Great coin. The only problem is the blast white makes the imaging hard. image

    Nice Merc Jon.

From what I see from the image you have a very flashy coin. Looks very well struck too.

P.S. I'm not a big merc collector, but I looked anyway. imageimage

  • Jon,
nice dime. I have included the 23s I picked up on this thread, hope you dont mind..... The scratches that you see are on the old slab, its a real nice strike dime. Just the slightest hint of tone covers the etnire surface on both sides, very hard to tell, unless its put up beside a blast white one.
Thank you for the pics, that makes it worth watching the boards!

Thanks Dennis. Don't mind your pic at all. The guy that described your coin to me must have been a blast white guy. He made your coin sound ugly and it is anything BUT that. Very pretty tone as far as I'm concerned. It will probably make Ken drool.

Nice dime. I love blast white beauties and that sure is one.

    Dennis,
Also a very nice dime. I'm not a fan of toning, but your dime is beautiful!

Nice dime! drool, drool.... seems to be my kind as well, being the No Bands guy around here unless the picture was off a bit on the bands. What a beauty. I dont discriminate between toned and blast white, just love to gorgeous Mercs!

Hey Guys Two Great looking Dimes !!!

No Problem I would take Either One. This Tone Mith about Myself is a Old Wives Tale. Well OK maybe not as Toned Coins are really appreciated but Nice White ones are not Passed Up. image

Now for a New Coin that Rick (Deep Coin) bought. Its White !

    image

But he did not get this Beauty from My Stash of NB Coins.

    image

Hmmm.....Maybe I do like Toned Coins a Little Better.

    Still After a 25D !!!

Jon should I hold off on one untill you check out St Louis ?? I have located one that will work for the Set.

Nice Additions Guys and will Talk to You all Later.

    Al:

Its just what the Camera picked up I believe. The Dime is a 35D and as far as I know there are No DD for this date. 35P Yes.

You are looking this Toned thing over pretty good. Hmmm....thinking about Toned Coins ?? image

    Jon,

Your '23-S looks like a great coin. If your software allows you to adjust the contrast, experiment with that a bit. My software has a feature called "Quick-fix" that makes some adjustments with the click of a button. Sometimes it helps, sometimes not. I used it on your pictures, and it seemed to reduced the "washed out" appearance a bit.

Since this has turned into a '23-S show and tell, I'm posting mine, too.image
