I think it might be legit- say you bid quickly then ask the seller a question... might not be the smartest way to bid, but might be true.

It's a little weird to me that he cancelled the bid only 12 hours after bidding which isn't a very long time to allow someone to get back to you.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
The same (or very similar) coin sold recently for $1,450. The seller was asking PR-65 money for a PR-64 pattern, and adding a lot of BS to the description that would only fool a newbie,
