Question about GOLD bars

I am wondering if it is legal to own gold bars. We are having a family disscucion and some of us think it is illigal to own gold bars and some think it's ok to does anyone know the answer?

Ownership of bullion gold was legalized in 1976 or 77 I think.

Ebay usually has several 1 gram and 10 gram bars.

Thanks for all the help i was right they were wrong. They thought it was illegal to own a gold bar over 1 pound but you told them wrong thanks for the help.

It is illegal to own any of the gold bars in Fort Knox, which weigh 27 pounds each. All other gold bars are OK.

Gold in bars or any other form became legal to own begining on Dec 31, 1974.
