monster rainbow toned superb gem mintstate 41-s walker

now i may have posted this coin before so all i will say about this coin is that it might be the finest toned 41-s walker certified and if not it is one of a very small handful of the absolute best.

now why do i say this?

well any mintstate walker is rare with great toning and even especially moreso in superb gem mintstate! this coin is an all there 66 coin ngc66 and is an above average strike for this date 41-s

also to get a 41-s to look like this is really rare but the

piece de resistance if i spelled this right is the rainbow toning which is one of the most RAREST AND DESIRABLE OF TONING!!!!!!!

i mean this combination of superb gem
mintstate not proof
a walker none the less in mintstate
and rainbow toned!!!!!!!!!!
and 41-s!!!!!!!!!!!!!

makes this coin really rare like this and most probably unique and if not unique with all these great charasticists then semi unique!!

also this coin has an original white skin covering this coin and the lustre underneath really strongly comes through the original skin and toning of this coin!

also the scan is very good but if you saw this coin in person the colors are really much more vibrant and alive this coin needs to be sight seen!!!

the above coin would be like if you were and error collector and you got say an indian cent in gem ms66 red full red that was perfectly off center at noon or k-12 as the error collectors call it and was off center say 40% not too little not too much just right and then the date was 1877 i mean one of the best if not the best dates in the series along with full red and gem!

sincerely michael

Aside from the toning, which is nice, that coin has an amazing strike for a 41-S. So many of these are so weak, I can't tell an AU from an MS without looking at the holder label.

thanks russ you must be a walker collector and enthueist!

and byergo thanks for the nice comments!

this coin is owned by the private collector of the eastern collection coins and i have had the pleasure to have examined this coin in person and of course the comments are my own

and i like to post on here as having seen many thousands of coins over the past 35 or so years i think i have developed an eye for coins that stand out to me coins that are great
just not ordinary or even above average but really special and the best of the best or at the very least on par with the best.
    to me great coins

i hope to show this in my posts with words and some photos not as good as sight seen but the best so far that we have currently on here! maybe it might get others to think and when they go out with their hard earned money can make better informed decsisons that will make the hobby more fun for them and hopefully get some great! coins in the process and when it comes time to sell they can at the very least have buyers for the coins and get at least what they paid for the coins and maybe as a bonus even more!!

Michael, like I've mentioned before I started off collecting these walkers. I used to go to the shows my wife and I and all we looked at were the walkers. And I sure don't remember seeing any 41s that looked as nice as this one. I really like the originality of this piece.

Great eye appealing toning, nice frosty looking skin covering the rest.
    Ok, send it to me!!!!!

Michael, I'm one picky type of guy. I don't see the mint mark. Is it just covered by the toning?

Stman - I can see it. It is dark - look at your monitor from a couple different angles to reduce the glare.

Edited to add: Almost forgot - Awesome coin Michael! I bought a toned 1943 MS66 today but it is the usual lavendar toning in the fields and devices. That peripheral toning is awesome! Keep the great pics and descriptions coming!

This is insane,I can see the S but my monator shows a weak strike?.The left hand blends in,and hardly any breast and leg feathers,is this a typical strike for this date?.Thanks Al

Grip, Yes this 41s is known for a weak strike, but this is one of the better ones. I think it's a great strike for the year. But I still don't really see the mintmark. I see something dark in the area.
