Suggestion to Report BAD TRADERS

I know most message boards/forums have the functionality of having "Sticky Posts". These are posts that stay at the very top of the boards regardless of any other messages being posted.
Could someone who knows the administrator (akafocus maybe) contact them and see if we can have one. Then, if we know of a bad trader, the administrator can post the info to the sticky post. This way, if your not sure, you can scan through this post to see if the trader has been flagged as a bad trader.
Just a suggestion. But I definitely think something needs to be done here. Also, if the administrators dont have time, I dont mind doing it if they give me access to that one post.
What do you think?

I've met a few really ggod honest traders since I've ben here,(Less than a month). But i noticed that some of the "Top Dawg" traders have a bad habit of wanting you send them 2 or more X's the BV they're giving you in order for them to trade with you.Dont know if thats the standard practice or just because I'm new.
I had heard ALOT of bad things about this forum on other boards,Yahoo,AOL etc. And so far it has been just as I'd heard,I'm sure there are alot of good people/traders here it's just a matter of weeding through the bad ones to find them and hoping you don't get robbed blind in the process.
I would like to see ALL sites related to trading that have a community work together for a change and establish a Bad Trader Database. I have a collaboration site where we could interface and strategize this project. Maybe webmasters with over 100 members could establish a searchable database that only they can add to. All sites would have access to it and it would help root out these punks. All information on a bad trader could be centralized there. I think this Bad Trader repository would help to establish who the real bad traders are and really warn people.
The sites that could most likey be a part of this and are close in mind are Trader Retreat, Collector Empire, Card Trading Fools, Card Trading Fun, Peggy's and SCS. There are probably a few more. Just an idea. It would be nice to see the bad guys squirm instead of just jump to another site with another name...

<< <i>Good suggestion Akafocus. >>
well sure his plan is GOOD, but do u guys, including akafocus have any idea how many hours and dollars it would take to make such a thing? there are SO many bad traders around, the thing would never be complete, and who would run it? what makes them the authority on who's bad? what criteria must be met for someone to be called 'bad'...i dont think a thing like that would ever work, unless someone got supermotivated, and devoted all of their time to making this "super-database"...
a while back when we 1st came to this forum when they had the old board.
Word of mouth was the way it worked back then.either by posting on the forum or by PM the word got out very quickly & all the great traders refused to even answer the bad traders inquires & soon after they vanished knowing they had no more prey to rip off. Also, new members coming into the forum were welcomed & would be given some insight as to who to look out for altho back then the bad traders didn't hang out too long as the great traders would rally to each others support.
The other thing to do is simply post on the forum asking for references before you trade with someone. That has been a longtime practice that seems to work pretty well.
NikeBasketball-NO way should you be sending double to trade with someone on this forum. That is NOT general practice here & NEVER has been.If someone has a rarer card or so they might ask for a premium but that's about it.There has been a practice of throwing in some extras if you are trading with somebody for a card you really want.CJ & I do that alot as a thank you to the other trader.
There are plenty of great traders on here that will trade with you straight up.Just be patient & you will find them.
I do agree that the admin staff doesn't have the time to root out & investigate all the allegations made here.Finding other problem traders is alot easier because thier vile or foulmouthed words are there for them to see & ban them if they see fit.We the members need to help each other out & warn the other great traders on here if you see them possibly going to make a deal with a trader you know to be a bad trader.A PM to the other great trader warning them is all you need to do.We have done it a number of times in the past & in fact just warned someone the other day of a potential rip.
Hope this helps! Just our 2 Lincolns worth.

How it would be established that a trader was bad would have to be worked out with the webmasters. It is not impossible. At SCS we have a published trade where both parties first accept and then acknowledge recipt of cards/money. Usually a bad trader just quits replying to emails. We give them 2 weeks to make good or contact us and contest the charge that is made in our Court forum. After that time has passed and they have not communicated (usual) we ban them and post them as a bad trader.
Believe it or not there are people out there that prize their word more then their cardboard...
