Has Any One Dealt With "Gatewest Coin LTD" ?

I never have. They run a add in Coin World almost every issue. A friend of mine was interested in some Canada Mint Stuff (yes I know this is the U.S Coin Forum ) image

I remembered their adds, so I looked them up and gave him the info ( Phone number and Email ) and he contacted them.

I was most displeased when I found out my friend had a "Not So Pleasing" response from them. WOW !

I am just wondering if any one here can shed some light on this dealer. From the past, I have read on the board that the dealers, for the most part, that take out those large, weekly adds, don't sell the best coins in town. I am sure there are some Great Dealers that advertise. I am just wondering which class of dealer "Gatewest Coin LTD was.
I am looking for any PCGS MS 70 Silver Eagle.

A couple of years ago I bought an indian cent they described as red/brown UNC. When it arrived it was cleaned and retoned. Only a $20 coin so I kept it. Mike

On mint packaged stuff it doesn't really matter who you buy from. It's mostly a price issue. Don't know much about Gatewest.

A really good Canadian dealer is Brian Jenner. Conservative grading and doesn't send scrubbed up cleaned coins. His phone number is 509-735-2172. Address is PO Box 2466-A Pasco, WA 99302

I've never dealt with them and as far as Canadian dealers go I have dealt with colonialacrescoins and been happy. I dealed with another Canadian, wolfecoins, on a US Barber Quarter of all things and he really impressed me with his service. We traded several emails talking about coins and he was really polite, he called me sir and even sent me a pict of my package sitting on the PO counter with all the forms signed to prove he wasn't going to rip me off. He did this on his own, the only thing I asked him was if he didn't take PayPal I would mail him a check .
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

Their eBay listings for 1964 proof sets are subliminally misleading. They always use a picture of an Accented Hair set with the disclaimer "The item pictured is an example of the actual item being sold."
