  • that''s cool

I'm not sure what the aversion is to slabbing. People have been slabbing pictures for well over a hundred years now. image

Aversion to slabbing.....overpriced, expensive service, inconsistency, incorrect grading, permanency, oversized, ugly...other than that, they're fine.

  • Stamp Slabbing isn't all that new. Alan Hager has already slabbed beanie babies.

littlewicher - I wondered how long stamp grading (slabbing) was going on. Are you serious about the Beanie Babies?

    Dave,

I sure hope Beanie Babies go crazy. I have 450, yes - that is four hundred and fifty, sitting in my basement that I thought I could buy, and sell for a profit. I'll trade all to someone for one uncirculated 16-D merc.image

I can't remember how long stamp slabbing has been going on.

I'm serious about the beanie babies. Alan Hager slabs them.

If anyone thinks the rare coin industry has grading/pricing issues go try to collect uncertified high quality early US stamps...what a nasty racket. I have relatives that used to play in that arena (since converted to real collecting pursuits such as coins and race horses) and it is an ugly ugly business. This of course is just my not so humble opinion. LW is also correct in stating that certifying stamps has been going on for a while now (although I do not know when it started for sure).

y'all are WAY behind the times. alan hager has been slabing beenie babies for at least 3 years. the put the b.b in a plastic bag, encapsulate the attached tag, & voila: plastic for beenies.

    i'm serious! i've seen these!

  • No I'm not going to do the stamp slabs, the sportscard slabs, the Beanie babies slabs, the sports memorabilia slabs , or any of the other slabs except the coin and currency slabs! image
