I am travelling and, while I have access to my email, I do not have access to the rest of the internet. Please make everyone on CU aware of the following:
1. I still have my cards - the deal I struck with Ty (or whoever this thief is) is that we would each send at the same time with a tracking number and insurance and other bells and whistles on Friday the 4th. I was obviously suspicious of the deal, which would have been tremendous for me, from the outset. He then wrote me on the 2nd to say he had mailed but without a tracking number. Since he broke the deal, I became suspicious and did not mail my cards.
2. Because of that fact, I am not sure I can file a mail fraud claim. Many other of the current people also did not send cards and may be in the same situation - I had contacted a number of them in the last couple of days.
3. Although I did not lose any cards, I obviously am embarrassed by the whole situation. I had hoped that posting on CU would shame this guy into fulfilling his end of the bargain. Obviously not.
4. The best thing we can do is to make sure this person does not rip anyone else off. I'll do what I can.
I'll be back in the middle of next week with more cards to trade.
