Ebay insanity

This cent shouldn't go for more than $50. Not only is the coin certified but the bidders are certifiable image

But this one has "rubby red color!"

    NOW don't you want it?

It's wierd... I've seen other 79-S T1 go for well over $100. I need to re-look at my 70s proof sets!

I saw that auction yesterday and was wondering about it myself, so I started researching to see if I could find historical pricing. You know what I found? The '79 Lincoln in 69DCAM comes up very, very rarely.

The T-1 is a key coin.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

With a Pop of 123/9, I'm not sure if it could be considered a "key", except maybe by these bidders. The T-2 is slightly better at 130/23 in 69DCAM. Yet the CU price list shows the T-2 as worth more indicating it is more of a "key" than the T-1?

If it makes any difference, the 1979's are the lowest Pops of the post 1978 Lincoln proofs save for the 1981-S T-2 with a Pop pf 59/0.

Even the numbers negate the logic in these bids. Dave

The pop is 123/9 but the Lincoln series has always beem popular. Anyone know the type 2 pop?

And the small dates and type 2's are not included in the registry sets???
Because they're not included in the sets are there prices lower?

Here are 3 other recent auctions and two are confusing.
I wonder what's arriving in their mail boxes?
Also two were bought by the same guy at big bucks.

The ruby red superlative wins out on them $180 proofs.

Maybe I'm collecting the wrong series???
