Coin Photo question

MICHAELDIXONMICHAELDIXON Posts: 6,531 ✭✭✭✭✭
I have a SONY Mavica FD85 digital camera. I cannot take a clear picture of a coin to save my life. Does anybody else have one and take pictures of their coins with it? Any information/help would be greatly appreciated.

In the maual - it should have a section on MACRO photos. My el-cheap-o camera has a slider switch that allows me to get up close and personal. I think it just causes the camera's auto-focus to focus on a much much closer object.

    Hello Michael,

I have a Sony FD-91. I use a #1 or #2 screw in close up filter and a really good stable tripod. In my experence there is no way you can shoot coins hand held without blurring the photo. I am going to get a good quality photo copy stand which would work even better. I just wish I had a remote shutter release which be even better.
