My flyers
I am happy with the set as it stands. I will never be able to compete with the fantastic sets above me and surely will only move downward in the future in regards to the rankings. I didn't want to upgrade the common ones because they would overshadow the 2 keys. So, I decided to send it in to get my name on it (which is the same as my son's.- he is John IV tho) while I am still able to do so. My son will have all of my coins someday and I am sure he will like the pedigree.
My plans now are to sell my '56 that got upgraded and then in the near future to begin trying to build a complete set of the clashed die FE's of 1857. That will surely be time consuming and wallet on the one.
I would hope that sometime in the future PCGS would add the clashed dies as optional coins to the set or even have a varieties set.
I have to thank my wife for allowing me to buy such a coin as the 1856. It took me a while to pay for it but it's all mine now. My grandpa would drop if he saw that I currently own a pair of '56 FE's. It's all his fault that I started this hobby. He used to make me look at his FE's to see if any of the really worn ones looked like 1856's! LOL!!!

I stumped my granddad with a MS-65 Barber Half one day. Not in the same league as that 1856 FE, but it made him feel good to see that I had continued his hobby.
Congrats on the great set.
I love those coins.
Your birds rock.I am in awe. That 56 is the bomb!!!!!!!!
All I have is a g-4 /vg's.
Kevin
All he needs is a 1858 SL in MS65 or better (pop 30/4) and we will have a new number one (the pop 99 MS64 will put him in a tie)
Hope he puts up a pic of his 1958 LL MS67 pop 1/0
Congrats on finishing the set. the pics are great
That 1856 is a beauty. Congrats on completing the set! The FE series is probably my favorite. It is a great design.
I would have to agree with you re: a variety set for the FE series - the clashed die coins and the type of 56 are probably the "keys" - keep lobbying...it may happen!
Nice set! Enjoy the Pedigree... maybe you can pass some on to your grand kids.
Nice set. Glad to hear your son will carry on the hobby.
And..., glad to see a fellow Ohioian doing well too! Yippee!
As someone who has seen your coins,I can say they are great. You are a true collector!Don't let it bother you about the top sets.Pedigree for your son is a great idea.

In memory of BL, SM, and KG. 16 and forever young, rest in peace.
Send us a pic when you get them back - would love to see it.
Great set John! Beautiful coins. It must be nice to have a 56 that nice. I also like your idea of keeping them all in AU grades. Makes a very pretty set!
