Does anyone know a good coin surgeon?

I don't need a doctor to tone a coin, I need a surgeon to plug a hole. Well, the coin is already plugged, but it's plugged poorly.

Does anyone know a craftsman who does expert repairs on holes? I don't want to the coin to fall victim to LM's vest. image

    Oh honorable Shirosan,

I know a tree surgeon who got into coins after being booted by the board of tree surgeons. Apparently he removed the wrong LIMB off a patient. Ha ha, hee, hee, ho, ho.

There is a guy whose name is Stockten I think. He's the son of a guy who was the master. I have his phone number at work and can get it for you next I'm at work on Monday.

  • I've been thinking of having this done too, Shiro.
I have an Unc 1838-O dime with a small hole poorly plugged I'd like to get repaired. I don't know the cost of this service, but I'd guess it'll run $50 to $75.
Find out what you can and let us know, as this will be quite interesting.

  • I heard of a name the other day,,, Mark Hoffman... supposed to be one of the best but he's in jail for murder right now, so ...he may be otherwise unoccupied/ or occupied... he says he's done some reverse tricks,('59 w/reverse wheat, and has the dubious credit of having performed some excellent looking Lincoln '09 svdbs and '14 ds.... and the Lord only knows whatelse...image

Does anybody know of a trade school or other educational institution where one might learn the trade? I have two teenage sons who are going to cost me a fortune to send to college. I'd prefer they look into a serious profession where they can hone their skills and see that they have produced a real "product", something that they can be proud of, rather than just turning out paper reports or electronic gobbooldlygook (like I do)!image

Please help - any pros out there looking for apprentices?image Huuuuuum - maybe not just for my sons. image

Thank you for your attention. The cat just ate some fresh rare-cooked beef - he's mighty frisky right now.
