Yo! Russ! Expert opinion needed.

What do you think about this proof set? Any hope? Kinda hard to tell from the picture.

I won't have it in-hand for awhile. I just got this email from the seller:

<< <i>Received payment today 10/9/02 for item, shipping and insurance. Scheduled ship date 10/16/02. >>

Seven day waiting period for a USPS money order? I think that's going a bit overboard.

Did I read that right? This seller is holding a postal money order? That'd be the last time I ever did business with him. Is this Liberal76, by any chance? If so, than it's not a stock photo. But, he buys a lot of batches of "unopened" sets.

  • Russ,

Yes, it is Liberal76. The auction said it was the actual set in the photo. I was kinda wondering if there was any hope that it was an AH.

And, yes... this will be my last order from him.

Well, at least the nice thing about his auctions is that you can usually grab the sets below sheet.

  • Russ,

I've had a few more emails with him. He DEPOSITS the money orders, and ships twice a week. I tried to tell him that he could probably cash the m.o. at the post office... but, I'm thinking his way is the way it's gonna get done. Oh well, as long as I eventually get my goods.

    Clark,

Remember that not everybody can run to the PO every day. I'd understand if he only ships twice a week. I don't think he's afraid of you bouncing a postal MO image
  • robertpr,

His original email telling me he received payment gave a shipping date of 7 days later. I think 7 days is a long time, since his auction only mentioned 7 days for checks/money orders to clear... not 7 days to ship.
And yet, his auction also states:

<< <i>Payment must be received within' 7 days of auction closing. >>

So, I have to get a money order and depend on the USPS to get it to him in 7 days. Not... that he has to hear from me in 7 days, or that payment arrangements be made in 7 days. He wants the money in his hands in 7 days. But, I won't have the item in my hands in seven days, because it will just be getting shipped then.

I know I'm quibbling over a few days here... but, I'm the customer, dammit! I just won't buy from him again.

I do when Clark buys something from me. I make a special trip 40 miles each way by foot.image
