They just don't make cameo Kennedys like they used to

Here is a quick scan of an 86 Kennedy I just got back. Sure wish they made them this nice today!

    after looking at more proof sets than i'd like to admit to, i feel the mid 80's produced some of the highest quality proofs since the mint improved their process in 1976. other good years are 1978 and 1979 but 1984-86 seem to be the cream-of-the-crop.

    Yep, the '80's are nice. Seems like the design change in '91 made it more difficult to produce the nice, thick frost we see on the coins of the previous decade.

  • That is a beautiful 83, Russ. I always have considered that date to be the ultimate in "cacked on frost".
