Just thought i would pass on this sad news........

For those of you who knew Josher416, i just received this email and i thought i would share it:

Hi
I am writing to tell you some very sad news. I know you have had a transaction with Josh Rothstein in the past, Ebay User ID: Musicrocks3, email: Josher416@aol.com and used to be "sunsinthehoop@aol.com". Knowing how friendly Josh was, I thought you may have struck up a friendship and I would tell you the following.

I am very sad to say, that Josh Rothstein died yesterday (10/7/02), after being hit by a car. Josh was on the sidewalk near his home, and a car did a U-turn on a road that was windy and not great visibility. Another car came along, swerved to avoid the car doing the U-turn, and knocked Josh down on the sidewalk. He did have some brain surgery, but was beyond help. He died yesterday afternoon.

I am a close friend of Josh's, and of the family, and helped Josh get started on Ebay, showing him how to do auctions, use paypal, leave feedback, etc. I thought I would take the liberty of letting you know, just in case you tried to contact him in the future and wondered why you got no reply. If there is anything outstanding, please let me know. However, Josh was always very organized, paying promptly, shipping immediately, so I don't think there are many loose ends. Should you wish to send a letter to his family, plmk and i will send you their address.

Josh will be missed by many.
Love: Karen

    Im Stunned!

Josh introduced me to TR & CU. We became very good friends and spoke daily via IMs and several times a week on the telephone. I guess we were as close as friends could be for a guy who is 40 and one who is 16.

I only knew Josh for 4-6 months but in that time as i said we spoke almost daily via computer .We even had a chance to meet at the Chicago National. In fact if it were not for the fact that Josh lived in Chicago I might not have made the trip at all. We Shared card stories and opinions and more importantly we talked about life often.

Josh and I meet through cards and this hobby yet after a few weeks we might start a conversation with something about cards but we would always detour to what was going on and the lessons of life; Those i had learned and experienced and those Josh was just getting to experience.

I know this sounds corny but in some ways we had a big brother relationship. Im not sure who got more out of it-me or him. he learned abit about what i went through and i got to vicariously experience life again.

I cannot believe hes gone. Heaven must have needed a good soul desperately to take Josh at such a young age.

    Im shocked, saddened and stunned.

I lost a good friend today-and the world lost a person who would have made a difference in his lifetime. In his short time on this planet Josh impacted many people for the better, imagine what he could

  • I've been gone from CU, but someone told me what had happened and about this post so I had to come back and give my two cents, because I traded with Josh many times.

This really puts into perspective the relationships we make on here....it seems just like a bunch of people who trade, and then something like this happens and you find yourself with tears in your eyes and a terrible sadness that you can't explain.

RIP Josh, and may God bring his family and freinds peace and strength. If someone gets the address to send cards and flowers to, if you will please email it to me at ryan_self@yahoo.com I would really appreciate it.

  • It would be very nice if we send cards to the family letting them know how much Josh meant to us in our own way. I emailed Karen last night and she said that any emails you sent to her would be given to the family as well. She did ask that no one email the family directly though through Josh's email address.....The funeral will be tomorrow, I'm sure it will be on our hearts and the family in our prayers......

Hey, I agree with the guys about that... as we all do... what do u think your talking about... like one guy said, you lost your money and he LOST HIS LIFE... would u rather lose your money or your life... you should've thought about that before u said that moron

Yeah, lets try to keep this to the top... Josh was a great guy... Its just so sad to see him gone at such an early age... he had a great life/career/ and maybe one of these days a family... and to see that go... its just terrible

I know I dont really use this website anymore, but to see something like this I have to reply to it... you can't skip this message...

Josh, I know you are looking down over all of us... and you are probaly seeing us reply to this... Take it easy in Heaven... you will be very missed... you were such a great guy

God bless Josh's family and friends... give them the strength
