After seeing a couple of posts concerning Segs, I figured I may as well head on over to Ebay and take a peak............I think this coin was 5-10 listings down the page. Didn't take long to find a doozy. I know funny stuff can be found in anyone's holder, but it's quick with these guys.
*One sidenote, If strapped down and forced to pick, sight unseen between a Segs slabbed coin and a newer PCI slabbed coin I would go with the Segs piece!

White (or maybe Wiped?) Obverse
Toned Reverse
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
Only problem is they aren't always funny on purpose.

Sent the thing off to Segs as a joke, and crapped his pants when the only "problem" designation the coin received was "obv. wiped".

I can't.

"Lite" , as in Miller Lite.
"specimint", as opposed to specimen
"wised" as opposd to wizzed.
Has anyone seen other funny ones?
Brian.
kudos to segs on that one.

As far as "telling" anything, all I did was offer my opinion on what may or may not have happened to the coin. I haven't seen a ton of coins only wiped on one side, so my ASSUMPTION would be that the coin had been cleaned (take your pick to the method) and then an attempt at recoloring the coin took place.
Fuzzy picture, or clear picture, I think they goofed on the AT designation. My opinion. Concrete proof? Just my opinion. You can agree or disagree.
You may like the idea of them notating the problems of a coin on the holder, and I do too, to be quite honest, but from the slabs I've seen, they don't get it correct a lot of times. I guess that's where my beef is, more than their actual slabbing of problem coins.

Try putting one's self in the position of the accused first - are you ready to face the executioner because your only transgression was walking on the grass, or having the wrong-shaped nose?
Why is condemnation so much easier for people to do than the offering of a little empathy, or even praise?
I don't want to make a gigantic issue of this. But should all of this condemnation that we see on this forum eventually contribute to the total loss of decency and civility in our society, the rise of dictatorial governments, persecution of millions of innocents, and the eventual decline and collapse of human civiliztion as we know it, then perhaps we would be better to be just a little more tolerant.
Thank you for your attention. The cat is taking his 2nd afternoon nap - I just hope the thought police don't knock on the door and take him away - all because of a possibly misgraded, perhaps AT'd, coin.
Wasn't it nasal? With those little black spots?
