Best value in a given series?

What grade do you think represents the best value in the series that you collect? In my opinion, MS64 Liberty Double Eagles and MS64 Barber halves are good values considering that an MS65 will cost more than double.

In Indian Head cents, I would say AU55 is the best way to go. Just a little wear on these only shows in a couple of places, and the coins are a steal against the MS prices for the same dates.

I would agree with this statement if you are talking about a semi key or key date in the series. I couldnt agree that a common date XF-AU is a "best value". I have lost $$ on several of my common date seated dimes, never have I lost 1 cent on a key or semi key date. They retain value MUCH better/
