I think this guy stole 140 dollars from me! please give me your opinion!

I paid him 140 dollars in a money order for him to send insured and i insured that package for 150 so total came to 142 to send him payment and everything. I know he has to receive it because if the PO loses it, i get 150 dollars. Otherwise, he has to receive it. I sent on 9/27 and he claims not to receive yet. In his latest feedback, 3 negatives have been posted since i bought the card and im getting worried i wont get the card.

Have you contacted SafeHarbor on ebay?, they will help get all but $25. back, then go after their money from him....Thats how it works in principle. #2 contact the MO company and see if its been cashed, if not, stop payment. To make claim from PO it has to be sent and the sender must make the claim, damage is claimed by the receiver.


EBAY has a Complaint department, USE IT

yes you can go cancel the money order if you want. But think about it, if you go into the bank and they tell you it hasnt been cashed yet then that means hes telling the truth and hasnt got it. If he cashed it, then he is lieing and apparently is ripping you off by telling you he hasnt gotten it. Then you can go to ebay and get your money back minus $25. Just go to your bank and check the status of the money order

why would i go to the bank to track the money order? i sent it from the PO.

U have to go to wherever you purchased the money order, put a tracer on the money order and find out if it has been cashed. If so then you go through ebay's insurance, but I think you have to wait 30 days from auction close to do this. Save all the tracer info as you will need that and a copy of the money order. This process is long as I am going through one right now that took place in July and am still waiting. If it hasn't been cashed then stop payment and get a new one and I would reconsider sending.

Well im sorry, I thought you got it from a bank. It doesnt matter where you got it from, just go and find out if it was ever cashed

I am confused, did you pay the seller for insurance or are you claiming you insured the letter you sent your money order in? It sounds like you insured the letter you sent the money order in, which you can't do, because they don't cover loss of Checks, Cash, or Money Orders. You would have to file the loss through the Money Order Service. If he did cash the money order and didn't send, then you could file fraud on ebay, it would cost you $25 off of what you spent, plus you don't get reimbursed for shipping cost.

i sent the guy a money order from teh PO for 138 dollars, 133 for the card and 5 for insured shipping. Then i insured the package i sent the money order in, for 150 dolalrs totaling to 140 dollars.

yea, you cant insure money orders or letters or anything like that, you can only insure materials. Because I mean if this package was lost you could go in and claim your insurance money then go to the post office and cancel the money order, ergo getting 2x your money. Go check the status of this money order. If it was not received maybe wait another couple days. If you want you can cancel the money order and then they can write you a new one, but dont even think of going in there to cancel a money order plus put a claim on your package because you cant do that.

if i cant insure a money order as a whole, then how come the guy insured it? and secondly, hypothetically speaking, if the package was lost, and i didnt insure the letter i sent the seller, i would get nothing. But the point is i insured the whole package for 150 dollars so if it was lost, i would get 150

You can't insure that kind of package. Your insurance is through the Money Order and not through the extra insurance you bought for no reason. If you look on the back of the MO Receipt, it should tell you how to file a claim. The extra insurance you bought was just a waste of money.

Did they see you put the MO in the envelope? Usually they will tell you at the counter or ask you what you are shipping in the envelope that you are insuring.
