Reslabbing possible?

I've got a PSA 8 1950 Bowman Ted Williams. I inserted the PSA serial # to verify the card. I was surprised to see a 91 UD Scotty Pippen PSA 9 card show up. (?!) I wrote Gayle at PSA and she said the card listing was a mistake when they transferred databases and that the card should be a PSA *9* Williams... I kindly showed her a scan of the card and she said she wanted me to send it into the Operations Mgr (Lyle) for verification (to make sure it wasn't tampered with- which begs the question, why would anyone decide to 'downgrade' a card?!)

Anyways, anyone have any experience with this? Should I even bother sending it back to them? Who knows what will happen. They can't possibly reslab it to a 9, could they?! image

It's a double data entry error. Firstly as an 8 rather than a 9 and secondly as the wrong card. Unless you feel the card is a legitimate 9, don't waste your time sending it in. It won't be re-slabbed as a 9 unless the error came in printing the label. If that is the case, then fortune has definitely smiled upon you.
  • what about a recent problem I had
where the card was graded a 9, but
apparently a back corner was "nicked"
after grading (possibly during the slabbing)

Charlie said to send it in to be check on...
    which I plan to do.

Has this happened to anyone else?
What did they do in the end?

I'm interested in this also. Just last week I received two cards (one 8 and one 9) with a rear "bent up" corner. There is NO WAY these cards would have received these grades if the corners were like that during the grading process.
