MERC help PLEASE :) Double die questions

PQpeacePQpeace Posts: 4,799 ✭✭✭
Hello Merc collectors, and thanks in advance for reading.

I just traded for some dollars, and I got about 70 circ mercs in the deal..from 1916-1945.Most are 1916-1939
they are all in 2 x 2's.
I was looking them over ,and saw 2 coins so far that the date has been double stamped.

1942 s is real obvious double die on the 1942 all 4 numbers
1945 s same on the 194 and the 5 looks normal.
are these worth anything ?? are they common ?

I will look them all over before posting them for sale or trade to see if there are any other interesting ones.
Thanks again,
Larry

Hi Larry. I was going thru my Mrec's yesterday and found a 1924 similar to yours. Here's the thread and responses I got.Mercury with Double Date.
Not what I wanted to here but they are pretty cool.image

I know exactly how you feel Larry. They are pretty neat though. Mine went straight into my Whitman.image
